Octal digits can be derived from binary digits by grouping consecutive binary digits into groups of three (starting from the right). Hexadecimal digits are widely used by computer system designers and programmers because they provide a more human-readable representation of binary values. Each hexadecimal digit is four binary digits, also known as a nibble, which is half a byte.
